 What is Integrative Therapeutic Counselling

Therapeutic Counselling is an integrative approach that combines various psychological theories and insights from notable psychologists.

Examples:

Freud's model of the mind is a good introduction to help clients recognise that their thoughts are not their true selves, but rather programmed responses influenced by their environment, akin to the Matrix concept.

Jung's ideas on personal consciousness, collective unconscious, archetypes, and Shadow-work provide a framework for clients to understand their complexities as distinct parts rather than a monolithic structure. This perspective has proven invaluable in addressing issues like stress and phobias, etc.

Winnicott's concept of the maturational process and the facilitating environment guides clients on their journey from dependence to independence. The therapeutic process teaches client to reparent themselves by using the healthier parts of their mind to nurture the more vulnerable aspects.

Alfred Adler's life scripts illustrate how individuals often unconsciously live out self-programmed narratives, leading to a misunderstanding of self-sabotage, which leads to failure, phobias, depression and anxiety.

Carl Rogers' emphasis on therapists demonstrating unconditional positive regard towards clients allows clients to incorporate the experience into their self-concept. Clients learn to change their thoughts and behaviour towards themselves and others. Societal norms often encourage the rejection of perceived flaws, but denying parts of the self casts shadows.  This therapy relates very well to shadow integration, unconditional love of self, and power retrieval (deeply rooted in Shamanic psychotherapy).  The foundation of real transformation.

Holistic Therapy explores the root cause of your difficulties. It will also help you to identify your individual way of processing so that you gain the necessary skills to aid further personal development post-counselling.
